Bar Soap - Charcoal Tea Tree

Tea Tree Charcoal – This bar of soap has a dramatic dark hue due to its charcoal content. The charcoal helps eliminate excess oil on the skin, removes deeper impurities, and rinses away cleanly. These bars also contain high quality tea tree oil (ECOCERT approved) which has known benefits for the skin. Using tea tree oil can improve oil levels and result in a more balanced complexion.

As well as these ingredients, we use a tea made with organic foraged plantain leaf.  Plantain has long been used for its various skin benefits. Plantain leaf can be a useful herbal remedy when used on inflamed skin, dermatitis or insect bites.

We handmake our soaps in small batches using our own carefully formulated recipes. Each oil has it's own fatty acid profile, which affects the properties of a soap bar. For this reason, we choose to use a mixture of olive, coconut and castor oils in our recipes. Olive oil ensures our bars are gentle and nourishing to the skin. Coconut oil is used to make the bars hard and long-lasting, and castor oil provides a lovely thick lather. Our soap bars are made using the cold process method, which allows the pH to drop as the bars age, which makes them gentle on the skin. We cure our soap bars for at least 4-6 weeks as well, which allows them to harden for high performance. Cold process soap making also results in bars that retain their natural glycerin - an important humectant and skin moisturizer.
